This unique deciduous shrub has four distinct features through the season. In April, the white lacecap flowers open on tiered layers almost like a wedding cake, blushing pink as the mature. Then, in summer, there are red berries turning black to provide a feast for the birds. Next comes a late summer surprise in the form of a second flush of flowers while in autumn the foliage turns fiery orange red.
